"Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, The [1963] Dylan’s second album, this was his first opportunity to show how fast he was to develop from one album to the next. The first sessions for this album were held in April 1962, just five months after the first album was recorded—but in the end nothing from the April sessions was included on the album. All the songs were his own, though many were based on older folk melodies. He was better known in 1963 as a new songwriter of weird promise than as a performer, though this album not only brought together an impressive group of songs that have since become classics—‘Blowin’ in the Wind’, ‘Girl of the North Country’, ‘Masters of War’ and ‘A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall’ were all on one side of the original LP, while the other includes ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right’—but also gained him an unstoppable cult following among people who preferred the harshness of Dylan’s performances to the string-soaked or softer cover-versions other singers released."

Best Song: A song I've sung over and over again for over 30 years is "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right". We've all been there. When love is gone and we're wishin' our departed "best of luck". It's very difficult to say what's the best song on an album FULL of fantastic material. I'm also very partial to "Blowin' in the Wind" and "Masters of War". -- Folkrockman
