sub-pagemonsterous dreamSomething came upOut of the seaSwept through the landofThe rich and the free.I look into the eyesof my merciful friendAnd then I ask myselfIs this the end?Memories lingerSad yet sweetAnd I think of the souls in heaven who will be.Alters are burningThe flames far and widethe fool has crossed overfrom the other sideThey tip their capsfrom the top of the hillYou can feel them comeAll brave blood do spill.Along the dimAtlantic lineThe rapper's landlasts for

dawnIn the deep green grassesand the
songsblood stained woodsThey never dreamed of surrenderingThey fell where they stood.Stars fell over AlabamaAnd I saw each starYou're walking in dreamsWhoever you

What to people make of this?
It's definitely my fave from Tell Tale Signs...
even though the religious/biblical aspect here is as dark as anything off his 'born again' albums...
Dylan's writing just seems to discussbe at a whole new level.

Some parts remind of me of the Civli War - some parts remind me of Lovecraft!

"Heaven blazing in my head I
I dreamt a monsterous dream
Something came up
Out of the sea
Swept through the land"
