Sometimes when listening to dylan I feel as if am drawing direct parrallels between elements of his songs and elements within Picasso's paintings. Especially with Dylan's "Black Diamond Bay", which has suddle shifts of subject and direction within the verses. It is a frequent occurance for me to get a flash of a Picasso image in my head while listening to Dylan. I know it sounds a bit crazy, I also know that Dylan has been called "the Picasso of rock music", which I discovered after doing a simple "Picasso and Dylan" search after a time of being struck by one of these flashes of insight. Perhaps the reasoning behind all this is that Picasso was and Dylan is flexible to the extreme with using their artistic devices.
